| James Potter is an egotistical teenager with a white knight complex, put simply. He was born to an elderly wizarding couple, and as their "miracle child", he has been doted on his entire life. He was born into a filthy rich pureblood family, but one where dark magic was frowned upon. James was raised with the notion that human life, not simply pureblooded life, was precious and should be protected. He never developed a hatred or fear of muggles (non magic folk) for this reason. However, those who practiced and condoned dark arts were always a different story. James has a very strongly defined sense of right and wrong. At Hogwarts, he and his friends caused loads of trouble, almost constantly. But he was far from a true delinquent. James was near the top of his class without hardly trying. He's naturally curious, and is often playing around with spells, creating incantations to suit his needs, though his best subject is Transfiguration. Among his achievements (all combined efforts with his friends) are the creation of the Marauders' Map and becoming an illegal animagus. Aside from academics and pranking, he was also a star chaser on the Quidditch team, and a very popular young boy. He was known to be a bit of a bully to certain Syletherin students though. Then he was brought to the mansion, only to find that the life of his son had been preserved in novels. He learned quickly of the tragedy that will occur not even five years after they return home, and has become determined to do everything in his power to try and stop it. |
| Lily Evans: The love of James' life. He's had his eye on Lily for who knows how long now and he's been confessing and trying for her precious attention. He's thrilled to find out they get married and have a child, but is significantly less thrilled that as of right now they're going to be murdered. He has a deal struck with Snape regarding her. Sirius Black: James' best friend. They're like brothers, but for a while, they fought over how to deal with the books. The fight was so bad that they both moved out of their room and James moved in with Kaylee Frye. Sirius didn't want James to have to face his fate and wanted to take on the burden on his own, whereas James wanted to work together. Recently, it seems they've agreed to disagree. Remus Lupin: Another best friend. While not quite on the same level as Sirius, they are very close. Remus Lupin is typically the more sensible of the three, and while James and Sirius were fighting, he acted as a peace keeper. He approves of trying to change the future for the better, however. But good god, who knows what will happen in the mansion with these three together. Severus "Snivellus" Snape: Is ancient, and it greatly amuses James. He arrived post-death, before James, and was not pleased to see his nemesis alive and well. He has been a surprisingly good resource though, that is, when he's willing to cooperate. His reasons are unknown to James, but he made James swear to protect Lily and keep her safe. He would have anyway, of course, but he gave Snape his word. When he's not trying to pry information from him though, he's treating him exactly as he did in Hogwarts - horribly. Kaylee Frye: She's another good friend of James', though he met her in the mansion. They get along very well - he tells her all sorts of things about his world and she tells him about the Verse (and James was fascinated to learn that muggles made it out into space.) When he was fighting with Sirius, he moved in with her for a bit, and she helped him search the library for the Harry Potter books.
